After today's doctor's appointment, I noticed that Thumper could be here very soon. So, I have been wanting to write them both letters before the "big change" in our lives :-)
Cyrus -
You are so precious to me! These last 2 years raising you have been amazing and with each day and each hour, you crack me up MORE and amaze me MORE with your absolute brilliance ;-) Not only that, but you have more personality in that little body than most grow people have! We were at a restaurant the other day and the waitress asked me if I needed more water. You help up your cup, looked at her with your CyCy raised eyebrows and determined face and said "Need juice... Apple" :-) I am not too sure there are many 23 months old who order their own juice when needed. HA! We have been so blessed with a baby boy who loves to sleep, loves to play, and love love loves to be outside - riding your big truck ALL over town! You also love Cars right now - I have never seen such a complete and utter obsession with 1 item before! And from that obsession, mommy is now learning all her trucks: backhoe, excavator, blatbed truck, dump truck... must I go on? haha. You also can pick out a Jeep from a line-up of cars... I don't know why you love Jeeps so much, but way to go! ;-) You are more of a single player kind kid - you like to sit in your corner and play with your cars. Which is perfectly fine with me! Daddy is also more of a play on his own too - and it's adorable to watch you in your own world of make believe with the cars :-) DAddy and Mommy love you so much and we know you are going to be a wonderful big brother! We cannot wait to see you interact with the new baby ... and to stop climbing in her swing ;-) We love you to pieces!
Thumper -
Thumper has been your nickname for the last 5 months. It was Tigger but then we found out you were a GIRL!!! (WHOO!!!!!!!!!) and changed it to something cuter ;-) And I had to have Thumper because, for the love of all my children, you kick me 24/7! I am already predicting that you will be a no-sleep child! You have never been still in my belly and cause my constant pain. These last 8 months have seriously, honestly but some of the hardest months of my life! I have been sick as a dog, unable to walk or move, in pain, and in complete and utter fear for your safety and mine. We've had some really rough days with you already - the doctors thinking something was wrong and then thinking you weren't growing and then thinking... ya, it just kept going and going. But as of today - you are a cute little baby who is, as always, extremely low and "ready to come out" at 37 weeks. Ha. No patience, huh? Just like Mama! ;-) Through all these months of being sick and exhausted, while chasing a toddler, and having 105 degree heat in June - I have been so excited to meet you and to hold you! When I first looked at the pink pile of clothes laying on our bed to fold, I was brought to tears and was in AWE with how wonderful God is! To give me a beautiful baby girl - I am just so blessed!!! I cannot WAIT to kiss your sweet face and hold you, finally, in my arms! You have a daddy and a big brother here too, waiting to meet you :-) So you better toughen up quick because Cy is ALL boy and will be ready to 'toughen you up' ;-)
I love both of my children and am so excited for this next journey in our lives as a family of 4. I am well aware that the next few months will be very hard with a newborn and toddler, but I am ready for it! lack of sleep? HA! I already don't get any. No time to eat? Fine, I haven't wanted to eat for the last 8 months. What's a shower? Well... who needs a shower when they have a beautiful boy and girl? ;-)
